The Willful Wallflower Socks

The Willful Wallflower is the first knitting pattern in the 2024 Golden Honey Sock Club, and it’s now available!

The Golden Honey Sock Club is devoted to historical romance archetypes. A wallflower is someone who is rarely asked to dance at a ball and spends the evening tucked among the potted ferns.

These socks are knit from the cuff down and graded to five sizes. They feature a richly textured leg and a simple stockinette foot. A heel flap and gusset provide an adjustable fit, while the socks are finished with a whimsical star toe.

Finished sock dimensions: 6.25” (16 cm), 7.5” (19 cm), 8.75” (22 cm), 10” (25.5 cm), 11.25” (28.5 cm) circumference.

You'll need one set of needles for your preferred style of small-circumference knitting (suggested size: US 1.5 / 2.5 mm). You'll also need one stitch marker for beginning of round, and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends

I knit my pair in Palmer Yarn Co. Soft Sock - 80% merino, 20% nylon, 400 yds (366 m) per 3.5 oz (100 g)

This pattern is well-suited to intermediate knitters. Techniques used are: decreases, knitting in the round, stockinette stitch grafting.
