Let's knit some really cute socks together
    lauren@abeeinthebonnet.com

I knit this latest version of my current knitting I knit this latest version of my current knitting obsession using some leftover @wildstarfibers (the light green), some leftover @missbabsyarns (the darker green), and a skein of yarn that I’ve had squirreled away for a special project (alas, the dyer is no longer dyeing).

This one is for my kid, who picked out the yarn combos herself. I might steal it occasionally, though. Mom tax.
Did I mention we are having a knit along for the 1 Did I mention we are having a knit along for the 15 Knots Hat over in my Facebook group? We’ve got some bingo, some video chats, and lots of other fun little things to make the knit along extra special.

@megsandco_yarn has been super busy dying up more yarn, and while it probably won’t arrive in time for the Monday kickoff if you place your order today, you’ll get it soon enough that you’ll totally be able to finish your hat before the end of the knit along.

And remember, two dollars from every pattern sale through the end of August and 10% of proceeds from yarn sales will go to the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps fund @sailingmom2la28’s Olympic campaign. We’re almost at 100 patterns sold!
I’ve been so focused on getting my materials ready I’ve been so focused on getting my materials ready for @flockfiberfestival that I’ve barely posted about it! I’m teaching two classes on Friday (one is sold out, but one still has a space or two left in it), speaking on a panel on Saturday about what happens when you make your hobby into your business, and hosting a table on Sunday where you can come check out lots of my designs in person.

If you’re going to be there, please come say hi! I’ll have stickers, some stitch markers to give away, and lots of codes for a free pattern download.

These kinds of events are a real highlight for me, because I don’t get to hang out in person with fellow fiber arts people very often. Getting to meet new friends is a treat.
Forgive me if I’m starting to sound like a broken Forgive me if I’m starting to sound like a broken record here, but this pattern release is so very special to me. You may not know it, but I decided to take my knitting business full-time not long after Lauren dove into her first season of competitive racing in more than 20 years. Watching her pursue her dreams with such joy and dedication has helped me feel like I can do the same with mine.

I think a lot of us around here have been in similar boats (no pun intended!). We reach our 30s or 40s, look around ourselves, feel generally satisfied with what we’ve done so far, but also have a lingering what if, a dream that we’ve set aside.

And the thing is, even if you’ve told yourself it’s too late for your dream, odds are good it isn’t actually. You just won’t know for sure until you try.

So this hat pattern is helping to make sure it’s not too late for Lauren’s dreams. Comment “15 Knots,” and I’ll send you a link to a blog post with all the info about how this works, where to get the pattern, how to source the yarn if you’d like some, and how to join the knit along. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even find encouragement to pursue your own dream, too.
