I’m Joining the Fasten Off Yarn-a-long Again!

Stitch-alongs, make-alongs, and craft-alongs are a staple during this time of year, when many knitters, crocheters, and other makers are racing to finish holiday gift projects. When the Ravelry accessibility debacle happened back in 2020, though, one of the most popular make-alongs became inaccessible to some people. Last year, the Fasten Off Yarn-a-long was born, and now I’m joining in for the second time!

I’m excited to be back for another year of fun, discounted patterns, games, making, and friendship. Here’s an overview of what we’ll be doing this year, where you can join the fun, and which of my patterns will be discounted (along with links for where to find them).

What Is The Fasten Off Yarn-a-long?

The Fasten Off Yarn-a-long is an independent stitchalong for knitters and crocheters. Because so many stitchers are frantically rushing to finish off their gift knitting at the end of the year, it’s fun to have a group of people to stitch with. From November 30 through December 6, over 2,000 patterns from over 100 indie designers will be available for 25% off on sites like Etsy, Payhip, and the designers’ individual websites. Those who can use Ravelry may also offer the discounts in their Rav shops.

Where Can I Join The Fasten Off Yarn-a-long?

You can join in wherever you share knitting photos! But the games and prizes will be happening in three distinct places: our Discord server, the Fasten Off YAL Instagram account, and the Fasten Off YAL Twitter account. You can find information about all those resources by clicking this link. Be sure to tag your posts with #FastenOffYAL.

Which Patterns Will Be Discounted?

Each independent designer participating in the YAL has contributed discounted patterns to the YAL. Some designers have put their entire catalog on sale, while others have sorted and chosen a few favorites.

I’m in the latter camp. I only run a site-wide sale once a year (on my birthday), but I love doing smaller sales throughout the year. For the YAL this year, I’ve put the following ten patterns up for discounted purchase. Be sure to use the code FO2021 at checkout to take 25% off these patterns!
