There’s no such thing as wasted time when you’re k There’s no such thing as wasted time when you’re knitting. No matter what happens, you get to learn things and build new skills. That’s true even if you have to start over again or you hate your finished project. You’ve still learned something, and what’s more, you’ve done it in a place where nobody’s going to get mad at you for not getting things right on the first try.
Want to help me send my friend to the Olympics? Th Want to help me send my friend to the Olympics? This hat is part of it! Here’s what’s happening.

My friend @sailingmom2la28 is making a run at the 2028 Olympics. She’s an incredible sailor who decided a couple years ago that she couldn’t live with the “what if” any longer. After deferring her dreams for 20 years, she’s back in the boat and chasing down her goal. She’s currently ranked 6th in North America, against competitors decades younger than she is.

But chasing an Olympic dream is expensive. There are boat charters, flights to regattas, coaching expenses, and so much more. That’s where we (and this hat!) come in.

I designed the 15 Knots Hat (named for Lauren’s favorite wind speed) to help raise funds for her campaign. @megsandco_yarn created this custom colorway inspired by Lauren’s logo and named it Second Wind, after Lauren’s racing team. We’re both going to be donating a portion of profits to the 501(c)(3) that helps fund Lauren’s campaign. More on that in an upcoming post because this is getting long already.

The pattern is coming on July 24. There’ll be a knitalong. Get ready, and let’s use our powers for good.
I used to struggle terribly with second sock syndr I used to struggle terribly with second sock syndrome. In fact, for the first decade of my knitting life, I only finished a few pairs of socks.

But you wouldn’t know that from looking at my sock drawer now. Here are several tips and tricks that have helped me over the years.

How about you? Do you have other strategies I haven’t mentioned here yet?

And knitting under a giant, old oak tree is an extra special experience.
