Get ready! My first shawl release in almost a year Get ready! My first shawl release in almost a year is coming next month. The Thalassic Shawl was originally published in Cast On Magazine a couple years ago, and I’ve been sitting on this pattern ever since. It’s time to share it.

This is an asymmetric triangle shawl knit with a combo of fingering-weight wool and lace-weight mohair for warmth but not weight. You can sub a single strand of DK-weight yarn but it will make for a denser, heavier fabric. Siri alpaca can be a good sub for the mohair if mohair is itchy for you but you want to preserve the lightness.

Yarn support for this design was kindly provided by @hedgehogfibres.

Letting go of these three things helped so much.
Whoever said handknit socks don’t grow on trees Whoever said handknit socks don’t grow on trees was seriously disturbed.
In August, things tend to get a little quieter in In August, things tend to get a little quieter in the garden around here.

The weather has finally warmed up, so I’m feeling lazy and therefore not as diligent about watering things, and the plants are still a little tired from their spring flush.

Still, there are blooms, and the blooms make me happy.
