A top-down photograph of a pair of gray-green socks with cable and seed stitch panels down the front and back. One sock still needs its toe grafted together. To the left of the socks is a canister of Tea Forte's Apricot Amaretto tea. It's a black canister with a tan label that has apricot-colored embellishments. A little tea is spilled across the counter to show its texture. To the right of the socks is a white teacup and saucer. The cup is full of Apricot Amaretto tea with milk. Small balls of snowball viburnum are scattered about the image.

I cast on this Musselburgh Hat on Friday because I I cast on this Musselburgh Hat on Friday because I was going camping with a group of little Girl Scouts and I knew I wanted something I could knit in the dark around the campfire. I like having a project that is entirely stockinette so I don’t have to look at it but can still keep stitching.

This mitered square bag has been living in my imagination for months, but it took a while for me to have a gap in my knitting schedule where I could get it done. I needed to do a little experimenting, so I knew there would be some false starts here and there.

The tutorial is live now on my blog, though, and you can get the link easily just by commenting “bag” on this post. I’ll send you a DM with the link to the tutorial. It’ll cover yardage, gauge, scaling the size up and down, and assembly.
