If you don’t like the technique the instructions tell you to use, you don’t have to use it. But it is important to understand why the instructions include that technique before you decide whether to skip it. That’s because sometimes, even though we don’t like doing the technique, it produces a desirable result. Sometimes there are other ways to achieve that result, but sometimes there aren’t. Once you understand the technique, you are better equipped to make informed decisions for yourself and your knitting process.
